Un Fin de Semana Poderosa

From October 5, 2015

Hola hijos de Dios!

FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS A:
Jane- I LOVE YOU BABY GIRL!
Devon and Raechel- My favorite sister and brother-in-law ever!
Ron- let's not remember how old you are;))))
Jen Morgan- How's it all going in Oregon??

Well don't we all just feel great after an amazing General Conference! I mean I cant think too much about it because then I remember its my last one in the mission and it makes me terribly sad, but on the other hand I was spiritually edified the ENTIRE time and I love that I could receive so many answers to the questions I had! Which were:

How can I consecrate myself more to God and to the mission?
How can I better achieve the potential that God knows I have?
How can I apply and feel the power of the Atonement in my life?

Can I just stop you all say that almost EVERY TALK touched on these three topics! I was almost blown away at how much God answered me!

I especially loved the talks by:
President Uchtdorf: Are my efforts leading me to my highest spiritual ability? Simplify, start where you are, God will take you as you are and change you. Look at yourself eternally, He sees me as good enough because he sees my divine destiny. Trust in the saving grace of Christ that will take you to places you never thought possible.

Larry R. Lawrence: What can I improve? What's keeping me from progressing? If we ask these things the spirit will give us customized council. Use the sacrament as a time to self evaluate and improve. Read your Patriarchal Blessing to remember your divine Potential.

Jeffery R. Holland: In temptation remember your mother and the Savior before you make a choice.

Bradley D. Foster: I know where you've been, I know what comes next, and I'll help you through it.

Russel M. Nelson: HOW IMPACTFUL WHEN HE SAID THAT MY GENERATION OF MOTHERS WILL PREPARE THE WORLD FOR THE SECOND COMING. I'VE NEVER FELT THE SECOND COMING SO CLOSE!

Devin G. Durrant: Ponderize. I love it! I will let you all know of my weekly scripture to ponderize next week:) I hope to hear all of yours too!

Allen D. Haynie: YOU ARE NOT A LOST CAUSE. CHRIST IS GOING TO SAY, "Oh no. Not you again!" Remember your mediator, he UNDERSTANDS!

Well I don't have much more time this week but I love you all and hope you can all take the time to ponder on the beautiful words of our prophets and revelators, THE TIME IS COMING BEFORE WE EVEN KNOW IT! PREPÁRENSE!

Les quiero un montón!
Con amor,
Hna Logan

Hoooooooooollllaaaaaaa:))

Now that I don't have food poisoning everything is wonderful! Hahhaah. Okay so this week has been full of miracles:) One of our converts friends wants to be baptized and she is going to be baptized Oct 10th! She's a 9 year-old girl who is just adorable and she's super smart and I love her!

Also. we are seeing a lot of progress with Carlos. He ALMOST accepted a baptismal date but he just wants to be more sure. But the members are befriending him a lot more and I feel like for General Conference he'll be able to recieve an answer. I mean you can put your money on the prophet! :)

I'm super stoked for GENERAL CONFERENCE! It makes me really sad to think this is my last conference in the mission but I LOVE General Conference so I can't wait! Also did you guys know that the last time they called three apostles in a General Conference was in 1906! So I think its going to be crazy! But the work of the Lord will not be stopped!

Well here I am learning and growing, living up the little time I have left!

I'm putting some pictures of the last couple of weeks because last week I didn't send much, lol

Love you all a ton!

Hasta Luego con todo mi amor,
Hna Logan

These pictures is when our Mission President came to check our house and we had interviews with him too. We made the assistants brownies and they were super happy, lol.

Terrimotos y Temblores

HOOOLLLAAA!

So I thought I would start off with the earthquake story so that the suspense doesn't kill anyone hahahaha.

So this week is the Independence day of Chile and so we did a lot of service activities because with all the drinking it can be a bit dangerous to be out on the street. So on the 16th of Sep we were helping a recent convert make something thats called Empanadas here in Chile which is a really popular food here. She owns a Bakery and we were helping her to make bread and pastries and we had just stopped to take a break and she sat on a table to rest when all of sudden she jumps off the table and says, "Its shaking!" and we thought she meant the table, as if it was going to break with the weight but then we realized that there was an actual earthquake. So we gathered all the children and we went to the door jam. My poor companion gets so scared during earthquakes that she faints so she tried to be strong for the children and we all started singing I am a Child of God. It didn't scare me because it wasn't that strong but it was like 4 mins long! And there have been aftershocks ever since. But I'm just grateful that they moved me from Coquimbo which got the worst of the earthquake! But I've never had much fear of earthquakes so I was okay. And that was it really hahahaha.

Right now I have to say that I'm sick. Yesterday my comp and I got food poisoning and we have been throwing up all night long! It has been horrible! We received priesthood blessings from our Zone Leaders and now we feel a bit better. But we are just pretty weak still. Lots of experiences in the mission, hahhaha.

But besides that we are all doing well here. I am doing just fine. Watching the time fly before my eyes! I can't believe it! But we are still working with our investigator Carlos who came to church yesterday but he has this fear to change his way of life. But we are seeing some good progress with him:)

Well that's about it for me folks. I hope all is well with you guys and that you can all be safe and well:))

con mucho cariño,
Hna Logan

Shake and Bake

From September 14, 2015

Hey so many of you are worried about me and we have permission today to let everyone know that I am OKAY. I'll write more details on monday but we were in fhe with a fam of recent converts when the earthquake happened. Where I am it was only a 7.2 but it was like 4 mins long. I wasn't scared really. My comp almost fainted and we had to comfort the kids who were crying. But honestly it was not that bad. Nothing broke or was destroyed and were all doing well.  :)

Cambios en Septiembre

From September 14, 2015

Hola querida familia y amigos!

FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS A TAYLOR! 24? WOOOOOW!

Well! I now have a new companion! Her name is Hermana Holmes (yes my comp is Sherlock Holmes and I now am Hermana Watson) and she is from Glendora, California which is pretty close to temecula if I'm not mistaken. Like 2 hours?? More or less... and she is a big bag of enthusiasm and energy hahaha. She is going to finish the mission Dec 1. So we are just working hard to be able to finish strong! We have found some new investigators and we're seeing a few progress:

There is Carlos who couldn't come to church yesterday for his work but he came to an activity on saturday night that we did for Chile's independence day ( Sep,18) where everyone dances and eats typical Chilean food. It was pretty fun. My comp and I were so happy to see him that when we saw him walking up to the church building we threw our hands up in the air and yelled his name hahaha. He was a little embarrassed but I think he felt pretty special. He promised to come to church next week and he doesn't feel like he understands what he reads in the BOM and he hasn't received an answer about it quite yet. But we have a pretty great feeling about him.

Also there is Carlos and Alejandro. Alejandro is a VERY special kid. He is 15 years-old and has a brain tumor. He is super tiny and lost his sight about 3/4 months ago. Then he learned in like 2 weeks how to read Brail and he's pretty much super intelligent. And his dad asked us for a blessing for the sick and the afflicted. They are super humble and we gave Alejandro the BOM in CD so he can listen to it. I feel a ton of love for the kid! I hope we can help them out a lot, too!

Well here I am just working hard and trying to live up the little time I have left! I can't believe how fast time has flown by! I hope all is well with you guys and that you can all feel my love and prayers!

OH! Remember those choir practices that we had a few weeks ago where I felt awful? I actually got in! I'll send the acceptance letter in my next email, but I am pretty stoked! Looks like we are going to have a Creche Festival sort of thing here in Viña where there will be many members and non-members! I think it will be a pretty awesome way to end my mission:))

Well I love and miss you all tons!

Hasta luego,
Hna Logan

Milagros Continúan Aún

From September 7, 2015

Hola todos:)))))

Well it sounds like you're all making a lot of changes hahaha. It's going to be interesting these next four months or so... But hey changes are what help us to change:)

So this week we received a few miracles and some interesting events lol.

First of all Luis and his Mom are doing pretty well as investigators. The only problem is that they have a hard time excepting the Book of Mormon. Well Marta, the mom, is a lot more open but Luis was a history teacher and it's hard for him to except the fact that Christ was here in the Americas. So if you guys would like to pray for him and his mom that they can keep praying about the BOM and receive an answer, that would be great! The truth is they're really great people and I love them a lot.

Another miracle was that there is an old investigator named Carlos that assisted the church for like three months strait right before I came here but he got offended and didn't come back... also he never "received an answer" about the BOM... well I met him on friday or saturday, I can't remember exactly, but we were talking and I shared with him that I didn't receive my answer right away about the BOM either. I had to keep asking and keep asking and keep moving on in order to receive the answer. And so we invited him to church again and HE CAME!!! He even got teared-up after the sacrament meeting. So I think we just need to help him to recognize the spirit and that the answers almost never are super grande. I think he is going to continue progressing:)

Also here's a story so you guys can see that God protects us. So this week we were walking when all of a sudden a man walks up to us and says, "Hola, hermanas" and when people say that its usually because they have listened to the missionaries before so we started asking him and he said that he shared quite a while with the other sisters but he smelled a lot like alcohol so we told him we had to leave to go to an appointment when he stepped a bit closer to us and the Rosario that he had around his neck just broke! Out of no where! So we finally could leave. But as we climbed down a pretty steep hill we heard someone call us and we saw him at the top of the hill and he told us to come back because his brother wanted to meet us and his brother is drunk, lol. Pretty sure that was lie. But we just kept walking and eventually he went back the way he came. But it was really cool in order to see how much the Lord protects us here on the mission. Heavenly Father loves us SOOO much I can't even believe it sometimes!

And the last miracle: We got a call yesterday from out leaders and they gave us a referral of a guy named Carlos who wanted a priesthood blessing for the sick. So we went over there with a few members and he told us his 15 year-old son has a brain tumor and now he has gone almost completely blind and he doesn't keep down any food that eats:(( And we couldn't go inside because there wasn't a women with us but this father was just so helpless. He just wishes that he could be suffering in the place of his son. It reminded me of the father that brings his sick son to Christ and Christ tells him that if he just believes that it was possible and the Father asks him to help his unbelief. It was a very precious meeting. And we are going to see them on wednesday so we'll see how they progress.

Well that pretty much wraps up my week. We are seeing a bunch of miracles and I have felt the love of my Savior with us in every day. I SOOOOOOOOOO grateful for the mission and the THOUSANDS of things I have learned, seen, and felt and I cannot thank the Lord enough for this wonderful experience! I KNOW that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and its thanks to Him that we are going to be able to live with our Father in Heaven once again. I KNOW they live and that they love us more than we could possibly understand.

I love you all SO much! And hope that you all can continue on the righteous path that leads to an eternity of happiness.

Ambrazos y besos a todos:)
Hna Logan

Here is a Sister that started the mission with me. We were together on the first day here in Chile when we had to give out a BOM and find the mission house all by ourselves! She's from Trujillo, Peru and I love her!

Luz en la Escuridad

From August 31, 2015

Hola!!!!! Como estan??? Espero que estén muy bien:)

Okay so a few interesting things happened this week:

First of all our mission did auditions for some THING we are going to do for christmas (but I really have no idea what it is going to be...) where we had to prepare a hymn to sing and so my comp and I did it but the auditions turned into something quite different. They had us do a bunch of sight singing and other aweful things I don't want to remember. I'm pretty sure I did aweful cuz I didnt even sing my hymn well I was so nervous... oh well, I tried right? Lol.

Also yesterday in sacrement meeting I gave a talk that I whipped out of nowhere but the spirit! Lol. I completely forgot about the talk I was supposed to give until like the end of the sacrament... so I just listened to the spirit hahahhahaa. And then during the classes a few people were quoting my talk, so I guess someone got something out it hahhahaa.

Do you guys remember that guy who gave us the model airplanes? Yeah well he came to church not yesterday but the week before and the week before that, too and we could finally go to his house and teach him and his mom yesterday! Well we couldn't really teach him much cuz he has problems hearing and he didn't sit down to listen cuz he wanted to show us some historical-biblical stuff, lol. But we talked to his mom and she is really awesome:) They are super sweet people and we feel a ton of love for them! We have this feeling they are going to get baptized! I'll keep you guys updated:)
We also have one kid who was baptized right before I came here and his parents are listening to us. They go to a cristian church but they believe that Joseph Smith was called to restore the fulness of the gospel. And they want to get baptized, but in a river... which would be a bit difficult. I mean they want to be baptized in nature and how Jesus was baptized and I understand that, but it's almost as if they dont understand the importance of the proper authority... but we are working with them.

Well my comp and I are working hard to overcome the weaknesses we have in order to become the missionaries that God wants us to become. It's not easy but it is possible. I'm just SO greatful for this wonderful gospel and that I could serve a mission. It is the BEST decision I have ever made! I couldn't be happier for this experience that puts everything into perspective. I know that my Father in Heaven lives and His Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I KNOW it, wihtout a single doubt!

Hast luego,
Hna Logan
